Tonschmiede – Das Blechprojekt: an eleven-member international brass ensemble. What began as an idea of friends at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich, has been entertaining audiences all over Europe since 2007, with performances spanning five centuries of music and a variety of instrumentations.

Since their early days, the young, professional musicians have made their way into some of the great orchestras of Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland, and can also be found passing on their knowledge as educators. Their performances, which include a variety of compositions and original pieces, range from classical to jazz all the way to modern pop and comprise the traditional brass line-up of 4 trumpets, 1 horn, 4 trombones, 1 tuba and the drums. The passion and pleasure of making music together has been the incentive behind Tonschmiede since its inception, and continues to drive the group to look for new challenges and to rehearse enthralling sets.
